One of the founding members of The Byrds...Chris Hillman, along with one of his life-long friends and musical mates, Herb Pedersen, blessed our hometown (Portland, Oregon) February 11th, 2006.

What a GREAT show! Our very own Iain McLennon and Rich Wahne were in attendance, sitting front row, to see the master of the Mandolin perform for an intimate crowd of about 80. You have got to get out and see the pair of Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen when, and if, they come to your home town. Oh my god do these two sing their hearts out. And the harmonies...SUPERB!

All the while having fun on stage, both with each other and the audience. Folks in the audience were calling out their requests, and on many occasions, Chris and Herb were able to honor the request immediately. A couple times they could not; but with good reason. How wonderful is that? It was like having Chris and Herb over to the house with a bunch of other close friends for some fondue and wine.

After the show we were able to get an autograph (yes...even us big stars ask for autographs from the really big stars) and a photo of Rich and Iain with Chris Hillman. The original bass player of The Byrds, and the current bass player of The ByrdBrains™. With a span of about forty years (give or take a few) between the two, and they both still look like kids...how can that be?

Oh yea...by the way; don't forget to check out the Mississippi Studios. What a GREAT venue for shows like this, AND lots of other wonderful events to take in.

Prior to the Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen's show, we were treated to about 40 minutes of acoustic music from local (well transplanted from New Mexico) musician Lewi Longmire. This boy can sing!
